Effective May 16, 2019: Advice to International Passengers on Limitations of Liability

Passengers embarking upon a journey involving an ultimate destination or a stop in a country other than the country of departure are advised that the provisions of an international treaty (the Warsaw Convention, the 1999 Montreal Convention, or other treaty), as well as a carrier’s own contract of carriage or tariff provisions, may be applicable to their entire journey, including any portion entirely within the countries of departure and destination. The applicable treaty governs and may limit the liability of carriers to passengers for death or personal injury, destruction or loss of, or damage to, baggage, and for delay of passengers and baggage.

Additional protection can usually be obtained by purchasing insurance from a private company. Such insurance is not affected by any limitation of the carrier’s liability under an international treaty. For further information please consult your airline or insurance company representative.

Airline Rules & Cancellation Policies

For the latest information on travel and CDC guidance related to Covid-19, please visit: https://www.cdc.gov/covid.

U.S. Federal law forbids the carriage of hazardous materials aboard aircraft in your luggage or on your person. A violation can result in five years imprisonment and penalties of $250,000 or more (49 U.S.C. 5124). For further information contact your airline representative or visit https://www.faa.gov/hazmat/packsafe/

Each traveler's name must appear exactly as is on the government-issued photo identification you plan to present at the airport. Airline tickets are non-transferrable. If modifications to traveler names are permitted, a per-ticket change fee may apply; however, these modifications are often not allowed once tickets are issued.

If you have selected a non-refundable fare, standard airline cancellation/change penalties and restrictions may apply. Please note that if you have selected a paid seat upgrade for your flight, it will be non-refundable.

Additional Information

Please read the following important information:

You must present a valid photo ID at the time of check-in. Passports may also be required for international travel. The name on your ID MUST MATCH exactly the name on your tickets. Please note that spaces and special characters are not permitted, so your name may run together when printed on your ticket, such as first and middle, and this is fully acceptable.

It is recommended that you check in at least 2 hours prior to departure for domestic travel and at least 3 hours prior to departure for international travel.

All airlines reserve the right to make schedule and equipment changes if necessary.

For travel outside the United States, a passport may be required. Please check travel.state.gov for the most current requirements, as requirements change often.

It is your obligation as the traveler to obtain all required international travel documentation. Failure to do so may result in denied boarding and additional costs.

All rules are determined by the airline and fare purchased. Please read the Fare Rules for full cancellation and change policies on your selected itinerary.

Basic Economy, Light, and Saver fares have the most restrictions and often are fully non-refundable after 24 hours of purchase, do not permit changes, do not permit seat assignments, and do not permit a carry-on bag (personal item only). These fares are often the last to board the flight, as well.

Cancellations and Changes Fare Rules

Refunds: Most flights are fully non-refundable once purchased. Some flights may be canceled within 24 hours of the original booking for a full refund, some restrictions may apply if booking within 7 days of travel, this flexibility does not apply to all carriers. Please cancel through your booking confirmation or by contacting us to obtain a refund as cancellations made directly with the airline will not process the applicable refund during this period unless the fare purchased is refundable beyond this window. Only select fares are refundable beyond the 24 hr period, and will be stated as such in the Fare Rules. Refundable fares may include penalties.

Any refund request for an extenuating circumstance must be handled directly with the airline. The agency is only able to issue refunds in accordance with the Fare Rules of your selected fare.

Please read the Fare Rules for full cancellation and change policies on your selected itinerary.

Cancellation: Cancellation of a non-refundable fare that permits changes, will usually result in a future travel credit with the airline on which the reservation was ticketed. These funds are available at the unused amount of the fare and typically valid to rebook and travel within 1 year from the original date of purchase. All rules/restrictions are imposed by the ticketing airline and change fees may apply to use these credits. The agency is not able to modify or extend the validity of these funds in any way. Please read the Fare Rules for full cancellation and change policies on your selected itinerary.

If you cancel or do not arrive for any part of your itinerary, all remaining flights on your ticket will automatically be canceled, unless your ticket is exchanged to match your new desired itinerary. For example, if your travel plans change and you no longer need your outbound flight but wish to keep your return you must do an exchange or the full itinerary will cancel once you miss the scheduled outbound flight. All changes are subject to change fees and fare differences.

All changes or cancellations must be made prior to the scheduled departure or the remaining value of the ticket will be fully forfeit by the airline as a no-show.

Changes: Voluntary changes may not be permitted, based on the airline and fare type selected, and additional fees per ticket/passenger may apply. Basic Economy fares are not refundable outside of the 24 hr period and are non-changeable with most airlines.

A change fee may apply, in addition to the difference in any fare increase, for any voluntary changes. The amounts and rules vary by airline and fare purchased. Please read the Fare Rules for full cancellation and change policies on your selected itinerary or contact us for more information. Most airlines do require changes be made directly with the agency to avoid additional fees.

Schedule Changes: Schedule changes are common for all flights. Changes may affect the time, date, seat selection, routing, and/or equipment of your selected flight. Please note that we do make every attempt to contact travelers prior to travel of any schedule changes received. Notices may not be sent immediately, as they are worked by date of travel. All changes are provided by the airline, and the agency has no control over the changes or schedules provided. All changes of 30 minutes or less will be automatically accepted. Changes that affect any stops on your itinerary or are more than 30 minutes must be accepted, changed, or canceled. Changes to these schedules are limited by airline rules and only can be changed as defined as major by the airline’s definition will qualify for a refund if canceled. The agency reserves the right to accept or cancel on your behalf if responses are not received in a timely manner to these notifications. Verifying your schedule in advance of travel will help to ensure you are up to date with all changes to help ensure a smooth travel experience and avoid missing your flight.

Seats:

If a seat selection has been made, please note that it is requested but not guaranteed. additional seats may be available to pre book with the airline at a fee. Paid seat assignments are nonrefundable.

General Photo ID Information

A government issued photo ID is required for each passenger 18 and older to fly domestically. All passengers need a passport to fly internationally, regardless of age. Each traveler's name must appear exactly as is on the government-issued photo identification you plan to present at the airport. If your photo identification has a middle name, it must be included on your ticket at time of booking. Travelers may encounter difficulty with airport security or may be denied boarding if the name entered here does not match the name on the photo identification. Modifications to traveler names are often not permitted once tickets are issued; if allowed, a per-ticket change fee applies.

Passengers 17 and under do not require a photo ID or any documentation. It is always a good idea to have documentation available, if requested should any issues arise. Children should answer any questions themselves that are asked directly to them by airport security, if able.

Does your ID meet REAL ID Act requirements?

Effective May 7, 2025 US Residents are required to have a REAL ID [driver's license or identification card] to board a commercial domestic airline, or must travel with a passport, including domestic travel.

Before you travel: Verify local travel restrictions and requirements for your destination in advance, as some requirements may take an extended amount of time to obtain such as Visa's. Visit the airline's website for up to date information on travel requirements and complete your online check-in 24 hrs before your flight to obtain your boarding pass and confirm any last minutes schedule changes from the airline.

Travel Documentation

It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the appropriate travel documents required by your itinerary. These may include a valid passport, travel visa or health information. Prices do not include any additional fees charged by the airline(s) directly for items such as baggage seat selection or onboard meals. Please read the additional terms and conditions below for full cancellation and change policies on your selected itinerary.

Flight Reconfirmation and Online Check In

It is recommended that you check-in online and verify your flight's departure and arrival time within 24 hours prior to your flight departure. Each traveler will need to be checked in to obtain a boarding pass. We also recommend that, before you depart for the airport, you visit your airlines website for notification of flight delays or cancellations.

Most airlines recommend that you arrive at the airport a minimum of 2 hours prior to your scheduled departure time for domestic and 3 hours for international flights and to be at your departure gate 30 minutes prior to departure. Once the boarding door is closed prior to scheduled take off, it cannot be reopened. Failure to abide by your airline's check in and boarding gate deadlines may result in the reassignment of any pre- reserved seats, denied boarding and/or the cancellation of reservations without refund. Please verify check in requirements directly with your airline and confirm the departure terminal with the airline before leaving for the airport. Please have your electronic ticket number and government issued identification ready for check-in.

Travel Alert

We strongly recommend that you have reviewed and verified all travel advisories including local restrictions and requirements for your destination as well as current health and safety guidelines prior to travel.

US Citizens

Any time you travel to or connect through a foreign country, you will need to prove your citizenship.

Foreign Nationals

For ticket purchases originating outside of the United States, a visa and additional proof of citizenship along with a round-trip ticket may be required. Travelers need to contact their government's office for travel requirements and restrictions.

Unaccompanied Minors (Children traveling alone ages 17 or younger)

AAA/CAA discourages making these reservations online. Many airlines allow unaccompanied minors on their flights but rules; restrictions and booking fees (up to $200 each way) vary by airline. Each airline has their own restrictions on the ages permitted to travel alone with and without a fee, the itineraries they are permitted on, etc. This information is not provided to our website. Please call your local Travel Agency for assistance.

Carry On and Checked Luggage

Please verify additional costs and baggage allowance directly with the airline. Additional fees are commonly charged for seat assignments and baggage, among other items. This fee is not included in the total cost of your ticket and is paid to the airline.

In Flight Meals

Flight time, class of service and distance are used to determine the food and beverage service you receive onboard your flight. Some airlines only accept major credit cards for onboard services.

Check with your airline directly for all food and beverage options.

Insurance

Your vacation is an investment. We strongly recommend that you protect this investment. Travel insurance protects your trip if you have to cancel or interrupt your travel plans. Please contact your travel agent for more information and to purchase your protection and peace of mind.

Price Changes

I understand that, for airline tickets and air-inclusive tours (a tour or cruise package that includes airfare sold by the Supplier), prices are subject to increase prior to the time I make full payment, however, prices are not subject to increase after I make full payment, except for charges resulting from increased government-imposed taxes or fees. I hereby consent to this price increase policy and authorize the airline/agency to charge my credit card for such additional amounts.

Hazardous Material

U.S. Federal law forbids the carriage of hazardous materials aboard aircraft in your luggage or on your person. A violation can result in five years imprisonment and penalties of $250,000 or more (49 U.S.C. 5124). Hazardous materials include explosives, compressed gases, flammable liquids and solids, oxidizers, poisons, corrosives and radioactive materials. Examples: Paints, lighter fluid, fireworks, tear gasses, oxygen bottles, and radio-pharmaceuticals. There are special exceptions for small quantities (up to 70 ounces total) of medicinal and toilet articles carried in your luggage and certain smoking materials carried on your person. Lithium ion batteries cannot be included in checked luggage. For further information contact your airline representative or visit PackSafe for Passengers. I hereby acknowledge these restrictions on hazardous materials in baggage.

Insecticides

Some countries may require aircraft cabin insecticide treatment for in-bound foreign flights. A list of such countries is available here: Aircraft Disinsection Requirements
